Favorites to win 2022 Sentry Tournament of Champions odds

Justin Thomas (+800). If you’re looking for someone to really trust to win your bet in Kapalua, it’s got to be Thomas, who carries a +800 golf odds to win. He seems to have a tremendous feel of the atmosphere down at the Plantation Course at Kapalua, where he’s got plenty of great memories. After all, Thomas has won two times there, so far in his career.

He topped the field back in the 2020 edition of the Sentry Tournament of Champions with a 14-under 278. He nearly won again in 2021 but settled for a third-place finish. The 28-year-old Thomas has cracked the top 10 four times in six total career appearances at the Plantation Course at Kapalua. His first win there occurred in 2017 during which he took home a cool sum of $1.22 million.

Jon Rahm (+800). What a year 2021 was for the Spaniard. During the 2020-21 PGA TOUR campaign, Rahm collected 15 top 10s in 22 starts, which included a win at the US Open. After an unfortunate withdrawal from the Memorial Tournament due to COVID, Rahm went on a tear, going 4/4 in his next four PGA TOUR events. But what about his form at the Plantation Course at Kapalua?

Well, he isn’t too shabby there, either. Although Rahm has yet to taste a victory there, he has not finished worse than 10th in any of his past four appearances at the said course. He came closes to a win there in 2018 when he finished runner-up to winner Dustin Johnson.

Collin Morikawa (+1000). Ranked second in the world, Morikawa still feels he’s got a chip on his shoulder, thanks to the PGA TOUR excluding his name from its top 10 Player Impact Program list. He can also potentially leapfrog Rahm for the No. 1 spot in the world rankings depending on how the two perform this week in Hawaii, so that’s another reason for Morikawa to be incredibly motivated.

He is off to a great start this season, despite floundering at the Hero Challenge last December, wherein he faded away in the final round to lose his lead and finish with a T-5. Overall this season, Morikawa has a pair of top 10s in two starts – which is the same record he has in his career at the Plantation Course at Kapalua, where he’s had a couple of seventh-place finishes in two appearances.

Sleepers to win 2022 Sentry Tournament of Champions golf odds

Talor Gooch (+4100).  Gooch is banking on momentum. The last time he saw action, pocketed $1.296 million for winning the 2021 RSM Classic back in November and of course, letting bettors who took a chance on his golf odds to cash in big. Gooch has not played in Kapalua before, so he is looking to parlay his win at the RSM Classic into another success this week. It’s also worth noting that Gooch has finished no worse than a T-11 in five of his last six starts overall.

Kevin Kisner (+10000). At his current golf odds, Kisner can come across as someone who carries a good value. For one, is a perfect 4/4 in Kapalua in his career. His best finish there was a solo ninth-place performance at the 2016 Hyundai Tournament of Champions. Since then, he’s finished 17th, 14th, and 24th in the next three editions of the tournament.

Final 2022 Sentry Tournament of Champions Prediction & Pick

When in doubt, go with the favorite. This being the first PGA TOUR event of 2022, some players, at least, might have some rusts to shake off before getting into their rhythm. But with Justin Thomas, bettors are going to get someone whose track record in Kapalua is too much to ignore.
