Why Iga Swiatek Could Cover The Spread
The champion at Roland Garros looked like a champion against Bouzkova. Swiatek is so fully at home in this tournament that decisive wins are expected, not merely hoped for. If Swiatek wins a 6-2, 6-2 match, she will cover the spread. When Swiatek is really locked in, she will often win a set 6-1 against an inferior player. It is entirely realistic to think she can cover a 7.5-game spread. Her dominance at Roland Garros shows that she is capable of delivering blowout wins, not merely straight-set wins. If there's anyone to trust on this surface and at this tournament, it is Swiatek.
Why Anastasia Potapova Could Cover The Spread
If Potapova loses this match 6-3, 6-2, she still covers the spread. She will need to get blown off the court to not cover the spread. If Potapova can lose the first set by a margin of no more than 6-3, she would have to lose the second set 6-1 to not cover the spread.
