Why The Cardinals Can Cover The Spread/Win

The St. Louis Cardinals have dropped to 44-40 on the season after another loss to the Braves last night. Although they've gone 1-6 in their last seven games, the Cards are still in second place behind the Brewers, just 3.0 games back. Over the last 13 games, the Cards have scored 50 runs with 17 home runs while hitting .241/.303/.432. Within that same stretch, they're pitching has compiled a 4.30 ERA, 1.34 WHIP, and .263 batting average against. Matthew Liberatore will take the hill for the Cardinals and the left-hander has a 2-1 record with 5.66 ERA and 1.79 WHIP. 

Why The Braves Can Cover The Spread/Win

 The Atlanta Braves have improved to 49-34 for the season, chasing the Mets in their division as they're currently 2.5 games back from first place. In the last 13 games, the reigning champions are hitting .258/.319/.443 with 19 home runs and 25 doubles. Their pitching has also registered a .354 ERA, 1.21 WHIP, and a .237 batting average against. Spencer Strider will be on the bump tonight as the righty is 4-2 with a 2.87 ERA and 1.01 WHIP.

Of course, the odds for the Braves Moneyline isn't even worth looking at, let alone betting, so we're going to take their run line instead.
