The Atlanta Hawks will head into Milwaukee tonight to take on the reigning NBA champions in the Bucks. The Bucks are facing the second half of their back-to-back series tonight as they sit in third place in the East, just three games back from the Heat. The Hawks on the other hand currently sit in tenth place, right outside the playoffs, but are still alive for the play-in game as they are just one game back from the eighth seed in the Nets. It’s time to continue our NBA odds series with a Hawks-Bucks prediction and pick.

Article Continues BelowWhy The Hawks Can Cover The Spread
The Atlanta Hawks come into this game after an overtime 113-110 loss to the Pistons on Monday as they wrap up their three-game road trip tonight. With that said, they are still ranked second in the league for scoring, averaging 114.2 points per 100 possessions. The Hawks also connect on 37.4 percent of three-point attempts, ranking them third in the league, and no team allows more three-pointers than the Bucks. The Hawks are also ranked number six for their defensive rebound rate at 73.7 percent. Their percentages do not reflect the Hawks' standings at all, as they currently sit outside of playoffs, desperate for some wins here soon. Tonight could possibly be the night where they start to get back on track.
Why The Bucks Can Cover The Spread
The Milwaukee Bucks are very effective on both ends of the floor, as they allow fewer than 1.1 points per possession on defense, and are ranked number two in the league for defensive rebounding. On offense, the Bucks rank in the top five in the league in efficiency, scoring 1.13 points per possession, and are in the top 10 for three-point accuracy, free throw creation, and fast break points. The Hawks tend to leave a lot of good looks open for their opponent, which is always an opportunity for a high-scoring team like the Bucks to take advantage.
Final Hawks-Bucks Prediction & Pick
These teams definitely have their work cut for them, but at the end of the day, the Milwaukee Bucks are just overall a better team. They have the better record for a reason, and I think this is a classic “let's not overthink this” type of game. Give me the Bucks at home -4.5, which I honestly think is a little low for a team of this caliber. Because both teams can score, I don't hate the over here either, but it just seems like such a high number at 240 that I want to avoid it. I'll stick with the home favorite for this one.
Final Hawks-Bucks Prediction and Pick: Milwaukee -4.5 (-112)
