Friday night in the NBA will showcase a great interconference matchup. It's time to continue our NBA odds series with a Jazz-Raptors prediction and pick.
The Utah Jazz are rolling once again this season. They are 28-10 which is good for third in the Western Conference. The Jazz are coming off a win against the Denver Nuggets 115-109 last time out. The issue for tonight is who will be suiting up for the Jazz. Injuries and Covid once again got in the way for the Jazz. This likely won't be a good result for Utah, playing a talented opponent. The Toronto Raptors are coming off a huge win over the defending champs Milwaukee Bucks. The Raptors are 19-18 on the season which puts them seventh in the Eastern Conference.
Here are the Jazz-Raptors NBA odds, courtesy of FanDuel.

Article Continues BelowWhy The Jazz Could Cover The Spread
You might be wondering why a team with a top-5 record in the NBA is given 11.5 points. That is because most of their entire team is out for Friday night. Donovan Mitchell will be out with a back strain, while others like Rudy Gobert, Joe Ingles, and others are out on the covid-19 list. Mike Conley will miss the game with a knee injury. It's tough to tell who will suit up for Friday night so that makes it difficult to know how they will play. Utah is 19-19 against the spread this year and has won four of their last five games. If they want to cover this spread, we will need to see something from the bench that we haven't seen before. I don't think any of the starters for Utah are playing tonight.
Why The Raptors Could Cover The Spread
The Raptors have a great shot at covering this spread with all the players out for Utah. It's a big spread but the Raptors are coming off a win against the Bucks. They are more than capable of covering this spread and it will start with their defense. If Toronto can manage to disrupt any flow Utah has, then this won't be a close game. This should be one of the easier games Toronto plays all season, and they need to take advantage of it. With a win, the Raptors will climb the Eastern standings and give themselves a better shot at the playoff picture. Toronto is 19-16 against the spread this year and has won four-straight games.
Final Jazz-Raptors Prediction & Pick
I am going to take the Raptors to cover this spread. This seems like an easy pick but Utah is good for a reason. Even without their stars, Utah can keep themselves in the game. I expect Toronto to get out to an early lead and hope they keep it going for the whole 48 minutes. The Jazz are 14-3 on the road this year which means they know how to get it done. That is something to keep an eye on for this game. Fred VanVleet is averaging 21.3 points per game for the Raptors.
Final Jazz-Raptors Prediction & Pick: Raptors -11.5 (-110)
