The Denver Nuggets and Chicago Bulls will matchup on Monday night in an inter-conference matchup. It's time to continue our NBA odds series with a Nuggets-Bulls prediction and pick.
The Nuggets and Bulls will battle on Monday as Chicago will look to defend their home floor. The Bulls are 7-4 at home so far this season, and sit as the No. 2 seed in the East with a 16-8 overall record. Denver has been ravaged by injuries and is just 11-11 on the season. Nikola Jokic missed a few games recently, but more significantly Michael Porter Jr. has been ruled out for the season and Jamal Murray is still a ways from returning from his knee injury. Denver will continue to be short-handed for the time being, putting a big load on the shoulders of the MVP. Jokic has shown he's capable of keeping the Nuggets in games though, and the Bulls will be on upset alert vs. one of the best players in the game on Monday night.

Why The Nuggets Can Cover The Spread
Article Continues BelowDenver will again be shorthanded on Monday as Bones Hyland and PJ Dozier will also be out in addition to Porter Jr. and Murray. Jokic, Will Barton and company will look to carry the load vs. a very good Bulls team. The Nuggets will of course have the best player on the court. as they often do. This can often times be a neutralizer and keep Denver close in games they may have no business being in. The Nuggets are getting a ton of points on the road this spot, so a cover will be tough. Still, getting the MVP and points is always at least somewhat appealing, and Denver has picked up nice road wins vs. the Miami Heat and New York Knicks within the last few days.
The Nuggets are 9-13 vs. the spread and 4-7 on the road so far this season. They can cover and win on Monday, but it will be tough against a good Chicago team who is at home and much healthier.
Why The Bulls Can Cover The Spread
Chicago has been one of the best teams in the NBA so far this season. Their offseason additions of Lonzo Ball and Demar DeRozan have proven to be gold, as Ball leads the team in assists while DeRozan leads the Bulls in scoring. Alex Caruso, who may be the Bulls' best defensive player, is doubtful for this one, which could be significant. DeRozan and Zach LaVine are not known as perimeter stoppers by any stretch, so the absence of Caruso will be felt if he's ruled out. The Bulls should still have enough to cover and win vs. the Nuggets with Ball, LaVine, DeRozan and center Nikola Vucevic all active and healthy.
Chicago has been a consistent team this season, as they are 16-8 against the spread. A win and a cover over the Nuggets is absolutely in play on Monday night.
Final Nuggets-Bulls Prediction & Pick
It's tough to fade Jokic, but the Nuggets are really banged up. Take the Bulls to win and cover at home vs. Denver in this matchup.
Final Nuggets-Bulls Prediction & Pick: Bulls -4 (-105)
