San Antonio is coming off a taxing 157-154 double-overtime victory over the Washington Wizards on Friday. Fresh off his first-ever All-Star appearance, Dejounte Murray proved further why he belonged on that stage. The 25-year old notched his 12th triple-double of the season with 31 points, 13 rebounds, and 14 assists. Keldon Johnson also had a huge evening as he led the Spurs in scoring with a career-high 32 points and five 3-pointers.

Meanwhile, the Heat are coming off a 115-110 victory over the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden. Tyler Herro scored 25 points while Jimmy Butler added 23 points to spoil Knicks star RJ Barrett's career game. The 3rd year lefty erupted for 46 points, including 30 in the first half. The win keeps Miami ahead of the Chicago Bulls in the East standings despite sharing identical records through 60 games this season.

This is the Spurs and the Heat's second and final meeting this season. Miami won the first encounter 112-95 in San Antonio earlier this month and has taken the last three wins dating back to last season.

Here is how FanDuel has set the Spurs-Heat NBA odds for this Saturday night NBA matchup.

NBA odds: SpursHeat Odds

Why the Spurs could cover the spread

The San Antonio Spurs are riding the momentum from a spirited double OT win on Friday. However, will the fatigue from the previous night carry over to Saturday? While Dejounte Murray and Keldon Johnson starred for San Antonio on Friday, Jakob Poetle also had a huge outing with 28 points, 11 rebounds, and eight assists. Lonnie Walker IV also contributed 23 points off the bench.

The win put San Antonio to just one game behind the 10th seed Portland Trail Blazers. They are currently tied with the New Orleans Pelicans with identical 24-36 records. The Spurs are vying for a spot in the play-in tournament. However, they have a relatively tough schedule, ranking 11th in Tankathon's remaining schedule strength, while Portland (30th) and New Orleans (20th) have an easier load down the stretch.

The Spurs will continue to heavily rely on the broad shoulders of Dejounte Murray, who is having a magnificent 2021-22 breakout campaign. On the season, the 25-year old is averaging 19.9 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 9.3 assists and is only second to Nikola Jokic (15) for the most triple-doubles recorded this year.

San Antonio has yet to submit its injury report ahead of Saturday, but newly-acquired guard Josh Richardson (shoulder) did not suit up in Friday's game versus the Wizards. Romeo Langford, who was also acquired from Boston, also sat out due to a groin injury. Josh Primo also did not play due to a sprained wrist.

The Spurs are 11-18 on the road and are facing a Heat team that hasn't lost much at home this season. They are also 10-16 against Eastern Conference teams. They are 31-28 against the spread, 24-36 on the moneyline, and 32-27 on the over/under.

Why the Heat could cover the spread

As the no. 1 seed in the East, the Miami Heat are the obvious favorites here. But will they be able to cover the nine-point spread for this one? The Heat were able to do so comfortably in their first encounter, covering the six-point spread by beating the Spurs by 17 points. However, it is worth considering that Dejounte Murray missed that game with a wrist injury. Things could look different this time around with the Spurs All-Star back.

Tyler Herro led Miami in that game with 24 points and he continues to show why he deserves major consideration for top Sixth Man honors this season. Bam Adebayo (18 points), Jimmy Butler (17 points), and Duncan Robinson (17 points) also scored in double-figures.

The Heat have yet to submit its injury report. Nonetheless, Victor Oladipo (quad) is still out for Miami as he continues to ramp up his recovery. Marcus Morris (neck) continues to be out since his spat with Nikola Jokic, while Dewayne Dedmon (back) has missed the last three games for Miami, dating back to before the All-Star break.

Despite sitting atop the East, the Heat are still in a tight spot as the conference essentially looks like it's going to be a bloodbath to end the regular season. They share the same record with the Chicago Bulls at 39-21 and are just 3.5 games above the no. 5 seed in the conference.

The Heat hold the best home record in the East at 17-9, which should favor them against a Spurs team that is 11-18 on the road. In addition, they have played well against West teams with a 14-9 record. Against the spread, the Heat are at 34-25. They are 39-21 on the moneyline and 35-24 on the over/under.

Final SpursHeat Prediction & Pick

There is good reason to believe Jimmy Butler and crew will be able to win and cover the spread again on Saturday night. The Heat have home-court advantage this time around. Though both teams played the previous night, the Spurs are coming off a double OT outing that could certainly show its effects on the second night of a back-to-back.

Final SpursHeat Prediction & Pick: Heat: -9 (-110)
