The Seattle Seahawks will take on the Los Angeles Rams in a classic NFC West matchup. It's time to continue our NFL odds series and make a Seahawks-Rams Week 15 prediction and pick.

The Seattle Seahawks kept their playoff hopes alive with a win in Week 14, and they'll need another win here. A 5-8 record in Week 15 typically means a postseason spent on the couch, but an unusually weak slate of NFC wild card contenders has allowed Seattle to keep their hopes alive. The Rams are the on good wild card team in the conference, and a win here could help them take first place in the notoriously difficult NFC West. These two teams always seem to keep things close no matter their records, so this should be an interesting one. This game was postponed to Tuesday due to Covid issues with the Rams, and now over the weekend the Seahawks have also been experiencing a Covid breakout.

Why The Seahawks Could Cover The Spread

Article Continues Below

After their 33-point explosion against the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Seahawks have now scored 30 points or more in two consecutive games. Quarterback Russell Wilson is finally coming to life, and the offense is sparking all around him. Despite what it may seem like on paper, this is another solid matchup for Wilson and crew. The Rams allow nearly 250 passing yards per game, a number that puts them in the bottom half of the NFL. This already weak defense will also be playing without an array of important starters, especially in the secondary. Starters Jalen Ramsey, Jordan Fuller, and Dont'e Deayon are all likely to miss this game. Their backups probably won't play here either. The Seahawks should be able to move the ball easily in this one.

Usually playing on the road is seen as a negative, but it has been anything but that for Wilson. The dangerous signal-caller has been elite on the road, tossing 11 touchdowns and only two interceptions while racking up 1369 passing yards and a quarterback rating of 104. This is the perfect matchup for Wilson to get back into his dominating ways.

Why The Rams Could Cover The Spread

Los Angeles may be weak in the secondary, but their menacing defensive line is always a threat to take over the game. That's what happened in Week 14 against the Arizona Cardinals, where the Rams posted four sacks, six quarterback hits, and six tackles for loss. Defensive tackle Aaron Donald pretty much just took over the game against a very competent Arizona offense, and the Rams managed to hold them to 23 points, despite all the injuries to the secondary. Seattle has two starting offensive linemen that likely won't play here, making things even easier for the best defensive line in the NFL.

Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford looked like he returned to form in last week's win, and now he matches up with a significantly softer defense than he did in that game. The Seahawks have been absolutely abysmal on defense, particularly against the pass. Seattle allows almost 280 yards per game, the worst figure in the league. They also allow 116 rushing yards per game, another number that places them in the bottom-ten in the NFL. The Rams shouldn't have any trouble posting upwards of 30 points here.

Final Seahawks-Rams Prediction & Pick

There are a couple of good picks here. The Rams should take this game by a touchdown fairly easily, but the over looks like the best pick. The Rams should do the bulk of the work, and Wilson and the Seahawks are more than capable of posting more than 20 points here.

Final Seahawks-Rams Prediction & Pick: Rams -7 (-106), Over: 45.5 (-114)
