The Houston Texans will face the Tennessee Titans in Week 11 play. It's time to continue our NFL odds series and make a Texans-Titans prediction and pick.
There isn't much to say about this Texans team. They are undeniably one of the least talented rosters in the NFL, a team that would be in contention for the first overall pick if they actually owned their 2022 first-round pick. The lone bright spot has been quarterback Tyrod Taylor, and even he has been mediocre at best. The Titans, on the other hand, look like one of the best teams in the NFL. A dominant win against the Los Angeles Rams on the road in Week 9 showed how good Tennessee really is, and they followed it up with another quality win against the New Orleans Saints. This is essentially another bye week for the Titans, but it'll be interesting to see how it plays out nonetheless.

Why The Texans Could Cover The Spread
Houston owns an abysmal record straight up, but they've had a little bit more success against the spread. Houston has covered in four of their nine contests, including a 3-3 record against their divisional opponents. Helping matters is the fact that the Titans haven't been great against the spread as home favorites. Tennessee has played three games as home favorites and they've only managed to cover in one of them. This is the ideal spot for the Texans to pull off a cover against a far superior team.
The Titans had one of the longest injury reports in the league entering Week 10, and that probably won't change in this one. The offense has already been decimated by the losses of Julio Jones and Derrick Henry, and now the defense is getting ripped apart by the injury bug. Starting linebackers David Long Jr., Rashaan Evans, and Bud Dupree will likely all enter this game with a questionable designation at best. A team that plays poorly at home combined with a plethora of injuries make a cover for Houston seem entirely possible.
Why The Titans Could Cover The Spread
There is an obvious talent gap between these two teams. Tennessee is an elite team that has legitimate Super Bowl aspirations, and the Texans are in the middle of a total rebuild. The rebuild is especially evident on defense, where the Texans have been shredded this season. Houston has allowed more than 30 points an insane six times this season, a figure that shows just how bad they've been. The Texans also allow a whopping 136 rushing yards per game, something that won't play well against one of the best rushing attacks in the league.
Despite dealing with a bevy of injuries, this Tennessee defense should perform well in this game. Houston has been held to single-digit points in five of their nine games, including a three-point performance against the Indianapolis Colts. There's just no reason to think that the Texans will perform well in this game, even with quarterback Tyrod Taylor back at the helm.
Final Texans-Titans Prediction & Pick
This is a fairly clear-cut pick. The Titans are a far superior team to Houston, and the Texans haven't even been particularly good against the spread. Take Tennessee at home here.
Final Texans-Titans Pick: Tennessee Titans: -10 (-110)
