The Minnesota Vikings and Baltimore Ravens will play in an inter-conference matchup on Sunday. Let's continue our NFL odds series and make a Vikings-Ravens prediction and pick.

The Ravens come into this home game vs. the Vikings rest up off their bye week. Minnesota lost at home to the Dallas Cowboys and their backup quarterback in Week 8. Baltimore figures to be well-positioned for a win in this spot, as they come into the contest as strong favorites. The Vikings season may be slipping away after the rough home loss, so they'll be looking to pull off the upset in an effort to avoid falling two games under .500.

Why The Vikings Can Cover The Spread

Kirk Cousins has been wildly inconsistent this season, which is pretty much on-brand for him. Some games, he lights up the box scores with huge passing numbers and the Vikings offense looks great. Other games, games like Sunday vs. Dallas, he looks like a shell of the other Kirk Cousins, and the Minnesota offense sputters and sometimes never gets going. The Ravens have traditionally been strong on defense, but they are a little susceptible to the pass this season.

Which Cousins shows up on Sunday likely decides if the Vikings get blown out or not, as the bad Kirk making an appearance in Baltimore might open the flood gates early for Lamar Jackson and the Ravens. However, if good Kirk shows up the Vikings have a real chance to win this game.

Why The Ravens Can Cover The Spread

Lamar Jackson is having another MVP-level season. He has improved as a passer, and will likely lead the NFL in total yards. Rookie Rashod Bateman looks like a real weapon for a Ravens offense that is already stocked well with Mark Andrews and Hollywood Brown. If the Ravens defense puts on a good showing Sunday, this could be a runaway win for Baltimore.

Jackson was locked in heading into the bye week, and an extra week of practice with Bateman may further unlock the intermediate passing game for the Ravens. Their stable of veteran running backs does just enough, and with Lamar's legs, the Ravens are often too much for opposing defenses. Additionally, the Vikings lost Danielle Hunter for the season in Week 8, so it could be a long day for their defense vs. Jackson and company.
