The Boston Bruins will up to Minnesota tonight to take on the Wild for the second half of their back-to-back set. The Bruins handled the Blackhawks in overtime last night for a 2-1 victory. The Wild are coming off of a 6-2 loss to the Predators on Sunday, bumping them down to a wild card spot instead of a top-three seeding in the Central division. With that, it’s time to continue our NHL odds series with a Bruins-Wild prediction and pick.

Why The Bruins Can Cover The Spread/Win
The Boston Bruins enter this game on a three-game win streak, but a six-game point streak. In fact, they're 8-1-1 in their last ten and are one of the hottest teams in the league right now. Being just two points behind the Maple Leafs for third place in the Atlantic Division now, the Bruins have their sights set on a deep run in the playoffs. Even though their offense has been excellent, their goaltending has really helped Boston win games. Since Linus Ullmark started last night, it's safe to assume that Jeremy Swayman will be getting the starting nod for tonight. He's been fantastic lately with a .926 save percentage and allowing 2.06 goals against per game. He'll look to stay hot tonight against an inconsistent Wild team.
Why The Wild Can Cover The Spread/Win
The Minnesota Wild have taken a huge dip since the All-Star break, sliding from second place in the Central Division, now all the way down to a fourth, trying to cling onto a playoff spot at this point. One thing that Minnesota has going for them is their ability to score goals, ranking fourth-best in the league averaging 3.67 goals per game. They're going to need to score a ton to help bail out their horrendous goaltending as of late, allowing 13 goals in their last three games. There's now no clear starter for the Wild as Cam Talbot will most likely still get the start tonight, averaging a .906 save percentage and allowing 3.00 goals per game. He'll have to do better tonight, and really just in general, if the Wild want to start winning games again.
Final Bruins-Wild Prediction & Pick
The Bruins are one of the hottest teams in the league right now and they're coming off of a huge overtime win against Chicago last night. Boston's goaltending has been impressive and reliable, along with their offense, while on the other side of the ice, the Wild can't seem to find that consistency that they need desperately need. Give me the Bruins on the Moneyline while it's still low, honestly probably should be higher, but both teams are in the same spot, standings-wise, so it makes sense.
Final Bruins-Wild Prediction and Pick: Bruins Moneyline (-105)
