Why The Canucks Can Cover The Spread/Win
Article Continues BelowThe Vancouver Canucks are now nine points away from a playoff position after losing three games in a row. While playoffs are now very unlikely for the Canucks, it doesn't mean they will stop trying, but the air has definitely been let out of the Canucks' balloon. No moves at the trade deadline showed that the Canucks had some faith in their team, but it wasn't enough. With that said, goaltender Thatcher Demko could be the difference-maker for this team. He's a young goaltender with a star role future in front of him. On the season so far, Demko is averaging a .916 save percentage while allowing 2.69 goals against per game. He'll look to shut the door on a scorching hot Knights team tonight.
Why The Golden Knights Can Cover The Spread/Win
The Vegas Golden Knights have been dominant lately, to say the least. They are currently on a 5-0-0 run and are now just one point behind the Stars for the last playoff wild card position. The Knights have been dealing with injuries all season long, but are still showing out to have great depth in their roster. If they can get healthy for the playoffs, they're going to be a team that nobody wants to face in the first round. Goaltender Robin Lehner is back to full health though as he was solid during his start on Sunday. He'll look to get another one tonight as he is averaging a .909 save percentage while allowing 2.75 goals against per game. He'll look to get another win tonight against the Canucks.
Final Canucks-Golden Knights Prediction & Pick
Sometimes you just have to ride the hot hand. The Knights are absolutely on fire right now and I can't wrap my head around not picking them to win this game tonight. They have all the momentum heading into the final month of the season and it shows. I think they beat the Canucks at home tonight and continue to put pressure on the Stars and Predators for those wild card positions. With that said, the odds for the Knights are a little too high for my liking, so I'm going to go down the classic 3Way Moneyline bet. This forces the Knights to win in regulation, but I think that can easily be done. The Canucks forced overtime in their last game, but I think just might have been their final gasp of air towards playoffs. Give me the Knights to win in regulation.
