The Vegas Golden Knights have been dealing with injuries all season long, but even then, it's still somewhat of a shock to see this group with a chance to miss the playoffs after being expected to win their division at the start of the season. In the midst of a four-game losing streak, all while on the road, the Knights look to wrap up their road trip on a high note in Western Canada tonight. We'll expect to see starting goaltender Robin Lehner on the sidelines still as Laurent Brossoit will start between the pipes tonight against his former team. Brossoit hasn't been very great this season while he fills in for Lehner as he is sporting a .899 save percentage while allowing 2.78 goals against per game. He'll have another chance to improve his stats tonight, but the Jets have no problem putting biscuits in the basket.
Why The Jets Can Cover The Spread/Win
The Winnipeg Jets are lowkey one of the hottest teams in the NHL right now as they are in the midst of a 5-2-1 stretch, which has put themselves somewhat back in the playoff race, just four points behind the Knights now. If they continue to keep winning, they just might find that wild card spot that they've been looking for. It's no secret that their defense has been far from stellar this year, but their offense has picked up the pace. In net for the Jets tonight should be star goaltender Connor Hellebuyck, who continues to be very solid for Winnipeg and is highly considered one of the best skilled in the league, despite his lacking statistics. He's allowing 2.99 goals against per game with a .908 save percentage. He'll look to stay hot and take on an injury-prone Golden Knights team.
Final Golden Knights-Jets Prediction & Pick
The Knights have been slowly sliding down the standings and have now found themselves in the last wild card position with a handful of teams nipping at their heels. If they don't get a win here tonight to help get them back on the right track, it could very easily be a wrap for Vegas' season. With that said, I have little to no confidence in them right now. On a four-game losing streak, they're due for a win, but not tonight. The Jets are hot and have a much better goaltender in the net, let alone the fact that they're on home ice. Give me the Jets Moneyline while it's still relatively low.
