Why The Wild Can Cover The Spread/Win
Article Continues BelowThe Minnesota Wild are producing some of the best play from any club lately, going 9-0-1 in their past 10 games. They hit a wall in February, but the Wild acquired some big pieces at the trade deadline which is forcing everyone to play better for their own jobs. The addition of goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury has forced the other goaltender, Cam Talbot, to start playing for the starting role, and has massively improved between the pipes. You know a team is doing well when there's a little bit of competition throughout the locker room for playing time, and they're still winning game after game. It's unclear who will be in net for the Wild tonight as they now have a 1A and 1B situation there.
Why The Predators Can Cover The Spread/Win
The Nashville Predators have gone 6-4-0 in their last 10 games, still desperate for an extra two points in the standings. Currently, the Preds are in the first wild card position in the West, and just six points behind the Blues for a secured playoff spot. This is going to be one of those games where if the Predators lose, they might miss the playoffs altogether. The Predators have the talent, but they're just a notch lower than the Wild, offensively. However, the Preds have of the best defenses in the league, including goaltender Juuse Saros, who will likely get the starting nod for tonight. He's averaging a .920 save percentage while allowing 2.57 goals against per game. He'll look to keep it close tonight against this Wild team.
Final Wild-Predators Prediction & Pick
This is another one of those games where it's pretty evenly matched, but not much value in these picks as they're all either minus money, or way too high of odds to even consider. So with that said, I'll keep it short, I'm going to take Minnesota's Moneyline. They're on absolute fire right now and it's hard not to bed against them. But don't expect Nashville to go down without a fight, I think it'll be a great game regardless.
