Game five will be played back in Edmonton tonight as the Oilers will head back home after losing game four to the Los Angeles Kings. The Kings shocked the hockey world by taking the lead after game one, but the Oilers bounced back and dominated (to say the least) in games two and three. Everything thought the Oilers were going to gentleman's sweep when the Kings come out of nowhere and proved that they're not willing to roll over just yet. Can the Kings keep the upset alive and win game five on the road tonight? It’s time to continue our NHL odds series with a Kings-Oilers prediction and pick.

Why The Kings Can Cover The Spread/Win
Article Continues BelowThe Los Angeles Kings will look to get back on top of the series before heading back home for game six. The Kings have been trying their best without their star defenseman, Drew Doughty, but the defense just hasn't been enough to stop the overwhelming rush of the Oilers' offense. Veteran goaltender Jonathan Quick has been playing fantastic in the first four games and will need to continue to do so if they want a chance to make a deep run in the playoffs. Kings head coach, Todd McLellan, found a way to help shut down Connor McDavid, by putting one of the best two-way centers in the league, Phillip Denault, on him at all times. Not only are they shutting down the powerhouse, but they're also scoring points too, making Oilers fans even more nervous heading into this matchup.
Why The Oilers Can Cover The Spread/Win
The Edmonton Oilers will be looking for some revenge after dropping game four to the Kings. Luckily for them, they'll be back on home ice and have that fan energy advantage. The biggest issue for the Oilers, which has been an issue all season, is their goaltending. Mike Smith has a stellar .942 save percentage in this series so far, but can he maintain that pace for the rest of the playoffs? He's known to be a very streaky goaltender, where once those flood gates are opened, he's a dead man walking. However, this is the first time Smith is truly healthy in between the pipes. I don't expect him to keep up these numbers for much longer but he'll need to focus on one game at a time, just trying to take care of the Kings on home ice first.
Final Kings-Oilers Prediction & Pick
This is easily one of the most important games of the series so far as the momentum has swung back to the Kings. Both goaltenders have been excellent so far, which is why this is an extremely difficult game to pick. Overall, the Oilers are a much better team, especially offensively, and I think they're going to ultimately win this series, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't lowkey rooting for the underdog. The Kings have the momentum now after the win in game four and will need another huge swing in their favor before heading back to LA for game six. I know in my head that the Oilers are probably going to win this game, but something tells me to ride the Kings tonight. I think I'm just going to take the Kings puck line tonight, for both value and a gut pick.
Final Kings-Oilers Prediction and Pick: Kings +1.5 (-137)
