England feels like it's finally time for them to break the championship drought that has plagued them since 1966. That was the last time England won an important International title, as they won the 1966 World Cup. They've never won a Euro title. England lost to Italy in a penalty shootout in the 2021 Euro Final, then France eliminated them in the quarterfinal of the 2022 World Cup. Serbia hasn't been great in the International competition thanks to a chaotic style of play that lends them to losing in big moments, as they missed the Euro tournament in 2021 and finished second in qualifying to Hungary this year. It is time to continue our Euro 2024 odds series with a Serbia-England prediction, pick, and how-to-watch.

Serbia may not make much noise in this tournament if they can't generate offense, but there's no doubt their matches will be exciting. Serbia has an offense that relies on two lethal strikers to outscore the mistakes from their backside.

England went undefeated in their qualifying group against Italy, Ukraine, North Macedonia, and Malta. The most impressive thing is that England dominated Italy in both matchups. Their two draws came against Ukraine and North Macedonia in the final match when their position was secure. Stop us if you have heard this before. England has one of the most talented groups in the tournament and is in a favorable position to win. Their only issue is that a first-place finish in their group and a first-place finish by France will put the two powerhouses on the same side of the bracket.

Why Serbia Will Win

England looks like they'll roll in this matchup, but it wouldn't be the first time an England team got on the world stage and had a disappointing effort. England's defense is good, but Serbia has the second-most accurate cross rate and third-best cross-completion rate in the field. Could the Serbians find one of their tall strikers early and somehow sit on the lead?

Why England Will Win

There are many reasons why England will go undefeated in this group and advance to the Round of 16 without a blemish. They have the most talented group and arguably the world's top midfielder in recent Champions League winner Jude Bellingham. England loves to counter-press when they lose the ball, causing mismatches in numbers coming the other way. Serbia needs to press with their weak midfield and defense, and if they do manage to get the ball from England, they better prepare for an onslaught. England could overwhelm them with an all-out attack if they aren't prepared.

Serbia's mission is to overload their opponents in attack, getting the ball to Aleksander Mitrovic and Dusan Vlahovic. The problem in this matchup is that England owns the best defense in the tournament. Serbia could outscore their defensive issues in qualifying, but this game won't be as easy. Serbia allowed the second-most counterattacking shots per 90 minutes in qualifying, which will do well for England's counter-press.

Final Serbia-England Prediction & Pick

The juice isn't worth it on the England money line in this matchup, but there isn't any good reason to take Serbia or a draw. England will roll in this matchup, meaning you can lay the heavy money line number if you'd like, but the target here could be Over 2.5 goals. Serbia will panic if they go behind early, causing them to take more chances and press England even harder. England can hit the over by themselves in this matchup, but if they can get two, it wouldn't be surprising to see Serbia score one late with the game out of reach.
