This Atlantic Division rivalry continues in Las Vegas as the Brooklyn Nets and Boston Celtics clash again. It's time to continue our NBA odds series with a Nets-Celtics prediction and pick.

The Nets are (2-2) so far in this tournament and will look to finish with a winning record by taking down the Celtics. The Nets played great in their win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Thursday when they won 102-83. Cam Thomas scored 26 in the win and the Nets did a solid job of showcasing the young talent in Vegas.

The Celtics are (3-1) so far and will look to finish with one of the better records in the five games played. Despite having the same record as the Portland Trail Blazers and New York Knicks, the Celtics were not chosen to participate in the “Final.” Either way, this team played very well in Vegas and showed why they have depth waiting behind an already elite roster. The Celtics dominated the Memphis Grizzlies 108-91 last time out as JD Davison scored 28 points.

Why The Nets Could Cover The Spread

Cam Thomas needs to have a repeat performance if the Nets want a chance at covering this spread and winning this game. The Celtics have been playing elite defense which is a theme in Boston. Thomas is fresh off of a huge game where he shot 7/16 and drilled all eight of his three throws. Kessler Edwards also contributed with 15 points and nine rebounds and David Duke Jr. finished with 16 points, eight rebounds, and six assists. Day'Ron Sharpe scored 20 points and ended with 10 rebounds for a double-double. Those four were really the only ones who scored with any consistency and will need to once again be on their game against Boston.

Why The Celtics Could Cover The Spread

Second-round draft pick JD Davison played one of the best games of the entire tournament on Thursday night. He ended with 28 points, 10 assists, and five rebounds to lead the Celtics over the Grizzlies. Justin Jackson contributed with 16 points and five assists and Juhann Begarin scored 19. Trevion Williams notched a double-double off of the bench, and that shows how valuable the bench can be for the Celtics.

Justin Jackson is an interesting name for this Celtics team. A team with Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown eliminates many chances for another wing to make this roster, however, if he continues to play like he has it will be tough to turn him away. Jackson currently is on the Texas Legends of the NBA G-League and signed with the Celtics prior to their win over the Milwaukee Bucks. Jackson appeared in one game for the Celtics back in 2021 and six for the Phoenix Suns last season.

If Jackson keeps up his solid run in his three games in Vegas it will be fun to see him go up against Thomas and the Nets. The Celtics must keep their defensive efforts up in this game.

Final Nets-Celtics Prediction & Pick

The Celtics come in as the underdog despite having the better performance in Vegas. Take the Celtics to cover this spread as they hope to finish on a high note.

Final Nets-Celtics Prediction & Pick: Celtics +2.5 (-112)
