PFL Week 4: Valentin Moldavsky vs. Linton Vassell continues on the main card with a fight between Taila Santos and Jena Bishop in the flyweight division. Santos made the most of her PFL debut with a first-round submission victory meanwhile, Bishop made quick work in her PFL debut with a first-round submission of her own. With that said, check out our PFL odds series for our Santos-Bishop prediction and pick.

Taila Santos (20-3) went from UFC title challenger to free agent in just two fights. Her free agency was short-lived as the PFL scooped her up as she is now competing in their flyweight tournament. She is now 1-0 in her new promotion looking to secure her spot in the PFL playoffs when she takes on Jena Bishop at PFL 4.

Jena Bishop (7-0) is an undefeated MMA fighter who was part of Bellator's flyweight division before the sale to the PFL. She is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu world champion who's finished four of her opponents by submission with back-to-back wins by submission. Bishop will be looking to make it three-straight submission victories securing her spot in the PFL playoffs when she takes on Taila Santos this Thursday night.

Why Taila Santos Will Win

Taila Santos went from being Valentina Shevchenko's toughest title defense to being out of the UFC in just two fights. However, it seems like she made the right decision after she made quick work in her first fight in her PFL debut. She choked out Ilara Joanne in under four minutes in the first round. Now, Santos will be looking to secure her first PFL playoffs birth when she takes on the undefeated Jena Bishop.

Santos is a very dangerous fighter no matter where the fight takes place. She has the technical striking to hang with anyone on the feet, the power to knock everyone out, and the grappling to hang with elite grapplers like Bishop. While Santos can hang with Bishop on the mat, it would be best for her to keep this fight on the feet where she has a massive advantage. As long as Santos can keep this fight on her feet it's her fight to lose as she looks to secure her first playoff birth.

Why Jena Bishop Will Win

The undefeated Jena Bishop will put her ‘0' on the line when she takes on the dangerous Taila Santos this weekend. Bishop came into her PFL debut winning all six of her professional fights with three of them coming by submission. Now, the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu world champion will be looking to get the biggest win of her MMA career when she steps inside the PFL SmartCage at PFL 4.

Jena Bishop is an IBJJF World Champion in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and she utilizes her grappling to her advantage every chance that she gets in her fights. Coming into her PFL debut against Chelsea Hackett, she didn't waste any time before taking the fight to the mat. Once she got the fight there she ended it quickly and with ease. This will be a much harder test going against the more experienced, the bigger, and the stronger Taila Santos. However, if Bishop can get this fight to the mat the chances of her getting the win increase dramatically, so it's up to her to get this fight to the mat.

Final Taila Santos-Jena Bishop Prediction & Pick

This should be a good fight in the flyweight division between these two surging PFL contenders. However, this is a tough billing for the Bishop going from Chelsea Hackett to Taila Santos. Santos has the experience and the defensive grappling to keep this fight in her wheelhouse on her feet. Bishop will have to sell out for the takedown whether that is utilizing trips, single or double-leg takedowns, or possibly even jumping guard, keeping this fight on the feet for a long period of time will be her demise. Ultimately, Bishop will look to close the gap and get this fight inside the clinch to take the fight to the mat but Santos will do a good job at staying off the cage and keep this fight at distance where Santos will finish Bishop on the feet inside two rounds and secure her first spot in the PFL playoffs as she looks forward to a potential championship and $1 Million.
