The main event of UFC 275 features an epic clash between current light heavyweight champion Glover Teixeira and Jiri Prochazka. The fight has been known since Teixeira became champion back in October. The fight is a very interesting one as the champion represents light heavyweight's past whilst the challenger is the division's new school. The easy breakdown is Teixeira fights like a giant Khabib Nurmagomedov who uses his wrestling to maul opponents on the way to finding a finish. Prochazka is a wild striker that's not afraid to throw caution to the wind. The simple idea behind this fight is both men have a high chance to finish the other and the winner will be whoever imposes their will first. It should be a fun scrap and the division continues to move on from its past with Jon Jones dominating for over a decade and Daniel Cormier being the second-best light heavyweight beating everyone else. The championship is either going to Brazil or the Czech Republic and it's going to be a lot of fun.
Glover Teixeira has been on a career renaissance ever since he figured out that wrestling was a cheat code in the light heavyweight division. The Brazilian has been taking everyone down and beating them up until the finish presents itself. Teixeira became the UFC light heavyweight champion with the same strategy against Jan Blachowicz. He took down the Polish fighter and submitted him in a quick fashion. Teixeira used to be a very durable boxer with an excellent ground game in his ground game. The durability started to become a problem and the Brazilian had to switch up his style. Now, the Brazilian keeps things on his feet for a little bit before muscling his way to the ground. It's been a very effective style and only a few fighters have been able to deal with it. The Brazilian will be hoping that style translates at UFC 275 and that Jiri Prochazka becomes the latest victim.
Jiri Prochazka has only been in the UFC for two fights but he's convinced many that he's one of the best light heavyweights in the world. The Czech fighter is currently on an incredible ten-fight knockout streak dating back to September 2017. The last loss Prochazka took was to Muhammad Lawal back in 2015. That was seven years ago and Lawal has been retired for almost three years now. Prochazka is currently in his prime and he's been knocking out high-level fighters and doing it in style. The question is if he'll be able to get his hands on Glover Teixeira and keep things on the feet long enough to land the knockout. He can be hurt, something that showed in his last fight against Dominick Reyes. That being said, his power is real and many are excited to see if he can become the next UFC light heavyweight champion.

How Glover Teixeira Wins The Fight At UFC 275
Glover Teixeira has found a way to beat most of the light heavyweights in his division. Take them down, ground and pound, and take advantage of any openings to find the finish. He'll be looking to utilize his jab early and control the cage in order to prevent Jiri Prochazka from pressuring him and landing a barrage of strikes. Getting the fight to the ground will be key considering the big advantage he holds in the wrestling department. From there, Prochazka will be in trouble if the Brazilian gets on top as he has a very heavy style and he's constantly hunting for the finish. There are some issues with the Czech fighter's game that will lead to some big opportunities for the Brazilian. Prochazka turtling if the fight goes to the ground or if the two scramble will spark the beginning of the end. The champion finds the submission on the ground to end things in the second round.
How Jiri Prochazka Wins The Fight At UFC 275
Glover Teixeira has an excellent boxing style on the feet but his durability is becoming a problem. That's where the opportunities will present themselves for Jiri Prochazka. He clearly has big power and that's going to be the key as long as the fight stays on the feet. Teixeira has a weakness for uppercuts and shots down the middle. Landing those kinds of strikes are going to have to feature heavily in his game if Prochazka wants to walk away with the title. Keeping things on the feet, avoiding scrambles, and staying off the bottom are a must if Prochazka wants to get things done. His most likely path to victory is going to be by knockout early. He most likely hurts the champion on the feet in the first round before the fight hits the mat. The second round is where things go south for the champion and the Czech Republic has itself a UFC champion.
Final Glover Teixeira-Jiri Prochazka Prediction & Pick
The breakdown on this one was very simple. Either Jiri Prochazka gets the knockout on the feet or Glover Teixeira gets the takedown and finds the submission. The question in this one is, do you trust Prochazka's ground game or Teixeira's chin more? On paper, this is the kind of fight that ends in the first couple of rounds rather than going very far. Teixeira looked really good in his last fight and he looked great on the feet too, even hurting the champion. There is no safe pick in this fight. The prediction is, that the champion lands some really good strikes on the feet but ultimately gets things to the ground in a quick fashion to find the finish. Prochazka can absolutely land something big down the middle to end things early but the champion has excellent boxing and won't simply get bullied. Teixeira surprises many to remain the light heavyweight champion with a second-round submission.
Final Glover Teixeira-Jiri Prochazka Pick: Glover Teixeira wins by submission in the second round.
