We're back with another prediction and pick for Sunday's BIG3 action and this next game should prove to be a good one. Tri-State (2-2) takes on Trilogy (2-2) in the biggest game of Week 5. Check out our BIG3 odds series for our Tri-State-Trilogy prediction and pick.

Tri-State comes into this game off a Week 4 blowout loss to the Ghost Ballers. They've looked like favorites to start the season and have an MVP candidate in Jason Richardson leading their team. They were undersized in their matchup and couldn't get any scoring going down low. They'll look to bounce back and fight for their playoff spot this week.

Trilogy comes into this game off a big win over the 3 Headed Monsters in Week 4. They won the game 50-36 despite missing several of their key players to injury. They've been battle-tested all season, but this may be the week in which they stamp their ticket to the playoffs.

Why Tri-State Will Win

Tri-State is shocked to find themselves at 2-2 and will need this win in order to keep their playoff hopes alive. They've been blessed this season with Jason Richardson on their squad and his heroic efforts. They've heavily relied on their three-ball this year and when it's going down, they look absolutely unstoppable. However, they're prone to bad games as well and shot just 1-15 from three-point in the loss last week.

To win this game, Tri-State will have to vary their scoring attack a little and work more off the ball. When they can't hit a shot, they're an extremely beatable team and don't contest as much on the boards as they should. Jason Richardson should look to attack inside in order to free his shooters up. If they get cold again, they could see their season dwindle before their eyes. If their shooting is dialed-in, however, they could be the team to win it all.

Why Trilogy Will Win

As the defending champions, Trilogy is hard-pressed to find themselves on the outside looking in for a playoff spot. They were able to come up with a big win against the 3 Headed Monsters despite missing Stephen Jackson and Isaiah Briscoe in the lineup. It was Ryan Carter who put the team on his back and led the way with 27 points and 5 assists. He'll hope to continue his hot play as they wish to see their squad fully healthy once again.

To win this game, Trilogy will once again have to lean on Carter and his supreme handles to carry them in this game if they aren't back to full health. Deshawn Stephens could present some problems down low for them, so look for Trilogy to crash the paint in trying to stop their inside attack. If Amir Johnson can hold the middle down, they should be able to win this game as the favorites.

Final Tri-State-Trilogy Prediction & Pick

This is going to be the closest game of this Week's action from a matchup standpoint. Both teams are also playing for their playoff lives and need to see a win for how well they've played this season. This matchup may come down to which team moves the ball better and limits turnovers. For our prediction, let's go with Tri-State to get the upset. If they can come back fully healthy, there's no way Jason Richardson lets them lose this game. Look for him to have a “Player of the Week” type of performance once again.

Final Tri-State-Trilogy Prediction & Pick: Tri-State +2.5 (-110)
