Exciting things are brewing in Colorado as the Denver Broncos are making some big-time moves. After hiring Nathaniel Hackett, the team seems to be on the right track to get back into playoff contention. Even so, there is one glaring weakness on the roster. For that reason, we take a look at the biggest Broncos team need heading into the 2022 NFL offseason.

The defense is one of the best in the league while the offense has the tools necessary to become a problem for their opponents. They have the receiving core to compete with anybody, the rushing attack to control the clock, and the offensive line to dominate the trenches. It's painfully obvious what the Broncos need, and that's a quarterback.

Drew Lock didn't turn out to be the star the franchise had hoped for. Additionally, Teddy Bridgewater didn't do much to convince the Broncos to keep him for the long term. We'll see how it all plays out, but Denver will be searching for a new quarterback this year.

With that said, here is our biggest Broncos team need heading into the 2022 NFL offseason.

Biggest Broncos Team Need in 2022 NFL Offseason

Find a Competent Quarterback

A competent quarterback should do, but a superstar would be much more sufficient. Considering Nathaniel Hackett comes from the Green Bay Packers, speculation of Aaron Rodgers going to Denver has already begun. Regardless, the Broncos will have plenty of options throughout the offseason.

The front office could look to free agency or the NFL Draft. Ideally, the Broncos trade for a superstar like Rodgers, or even Russell Wilson. What makes a trade tricky, is nobody is sure what the plans are for either of these quarterbacks. If they hit the trade block, Denver will be involved in a competitive trade race to acquire either one.

If the Broncos fail to pick up either Aaron Rodgers or Russell Wilson, the fan base shouldn't feel defeated. Mitchell Trubisky and Marcus Mariota are bound to be hot commodities in the offseason. They're not the most exciting names, but another chance at a starting job could do wonders for both of them. With Hackett in charge, it's not crazy to think Trubisky or Mariota can resurge their careers with the Broncos.

The final option would be in the NFL Draft. Although this upcoming class isn't as exciting as the last, there are still some solid prospects to be had. If needed, Denver could make a move to select their favorite rookie quarterback to mold and develop. It could prevent the Broncos from reaching the playoffs next season, but it sets the team up for the long run.

Clearly, the Broncos will have options and the front office will do its due diligence. The feeling around the league is that Denver is a quarterback away from being a serious contender. It'll be tough to pull off, but this franchise is in a great position to get back on top of the league. Although the AFC West is incredibly crowded, don't be shocked to see this organization in the postseason once they have improved quarterback play.
