Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy did not start this past Sunday's game against the New England Patriots because of a private matter between McCoy and head coach Sean McDermott. McCoy appeared to handle the situation as well as he could have.

“Coach, he just, we had a situation,” McCoy said. “He was totally right. I mean, it was a private situation. I'm a captain. I've got to be more accountable. Simple as that. He checked me, put me in my place. That was it.”

McCoy is having a season to forget and furthermore the worst season of his career. The Bills star running back has totaled 488 rushing yards as of Week 16 and is averaging a career-worst 3.2 yards per carry. McCoy has never averaged less than 4.1 yards per carry, and although he still appears to have some gas left in the tank, he undoubtedly had his best years on the Philadelphia Eagles.

McCoy has been the only bright spot on offense aside from rookie quarterback Josh Allen, yet the team has a very talented defensive unit. McCoy appears to be part of the team's future plans otherwise they would have traded him like speculation and rumors suggested earlier this season. The Bills have had a couple of good seasons out of McCoy. However, this season has been uncharacteristic, and the veteran back has struggled mightily.

The Bills have snuck away with some wins this season against some very good teams, but overall this season left a lot to be desired.
