Before he chose to sign with the Denver Broncos, Melvin Gordon reportedly received an offer from a mysterious team. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Buffalo Bills never made an offer to Gordon.

At first, Mike Klis of 9News reported that the Bills were the team that offered more to Gordon prior to him signing with the Broncos. However, Schefter refuted that report and made it clear that Buffalo didn't extend an offer to the former first-round pick.

While they didn't offer him a contract, Gordon's agent did reach out to the Bills. But likely due to his asking price, Buffalo bowed out and chose not to pursue the 26-year-old running back.

Despite ruling out the Bills, it still remains to be seen who the team was that offered Gordon more money than the Broncos. Of course, Gordon inked a two-year, $16 million deal with Denver, getting a chance to play his former team in the Los Angeles Chargers twice a year.

On the other hand, Buffalo is known to be a team that is keeping tabs on the running backs that are available in free agency. Even with Devin Singletary entering his second season, the Bills realize they could use another running back on the roster.

When it was revealed that Gordon wasn't getting the interest he hoped for in free agency, some believed that the Bills could become a possible landing spot. Nevertheless, Buffalo expressed much interest in Gordon and will continue looking for someone to pair with Singletary in 2020.
