The Buffalo Bills decided to bring EJ Gaines back for his second stint with the team in 2019. Due to yet another injury, Buffalo is releasing Gaines according to Field Yates of ESPN.

Recently, the Bills placed Gaines on injured reserve due to a groin injury and signed veteran Captain Munnerlyn to replace him. Just a week later, both sides reached an injury settlement and Gaines will be eligible to sign with any team after he gets healthy.

Injuries have hindered Gaines' career in the NFL and made it tough for him to find a secured roster spot on any team. The veteran cornerback is hoping that his release will be a blessing in disguise.

The 27-year old cornerback began his career with the St. Louis Rams in 2014 as a sixth-round pick out of Missouri. As a rookie, Gaines started in 15 games and finished with 70 tackles, two interceptions, and 14 deflections.

Sadly, a serious Lisfranc injury prevented Gaines from suiting up in 2015 and since then, the former Rams cornerback hasn't been the same. Over the past few seasons, EJ Gaines has played for the Bills and the Cleveland Browns.

With the Browns, Gaines suffered a knee injury that landed him on injured reserve for the team's final seven games. Now, the veteran cornerback is hoping to land back on his feet after his latest injury has caused him to be released from the Bills.

Considering the fact that EJ Gaines was placed on injured reserve before being released shows that his serious is slightly serious. Therefore, it may be tough for the Missouri product to find a new home in 2019.
