Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen is not buying in on all of the criticism that's being laid out on his new wide receiver Stefon Diggs.

Diggs was unexpectedly traded to the Bills from the Minnesota Vikings in the offseason. Among the speculation of why Diggs was traded was due to character concerns. After all, why would the Vikings trade a 26-year-old wide receiver coming off of the best season of his career (63 catches, 1,130 yards and six touchdowns on 17.9 yards per reception)?

While the trade did seem to come out of nowhere, Diggs' newest quarterback is quick to defend the wide receiver, claiming that “he loves to work.”

Via Ryan Talbot of NY UP:

“I’ll tell you, this man loves to work,” Allen told reporters this week. “He loves to get on the field and run routes and talk to the guys and explain how he’s running routes and explain what works for him to these young cats.”

Allen also made sure to single out how Diggs has been willing to be a team player with Bills teammates during the offseason.

“It was very, very awesome to see just the amount of detail that he puts into his craft, how communicative he was, how willing he was to learn,” Allen said. “And he wasn’t there for himself. He was there for the betterment of the team and wanted to hang out with the guys and wanted to learn and get to know the guys and I thought that was pretty special. You hear all these crazy stories in the media and I think he’s had a bad rep where he was at.”

It is worth mentioning that since the trade occurred, the Vikings have made sure to quell the rumors of Diggs having character concerns. More than anything, the right offer simply came along — a first-round pick (used on LSU wide receiver Justin Jefferson), fifth-round pick and sixth-round pick — and Minnesota pounced on the offer.

Now that Digg is in a new environment with a team ready to win the AFC East division, 2020 could turn out to be Diggs' biggest year yet.
