Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen hasn't been afraid to take chances with his passes so far during his career, something that has gotten him into trouble at times. There have been some questions about if he is going to be more careful going forward, but with his latest answer, it's clear he won't be. The one thing Allen doesn't want to become is captain checkdown.

“I’m not going to be Captain Checkdown,” Allen said via Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com. “I’m going to continue to play the game the way I love it.”

Another reason Allen isn't going to become captain checkdown is because of the addition of Stefon Diggs, who is an elite catcher of the deep ball. Allen and Diggs have been on the same team for a couple of months, but he has been blown away by his skills and his work as a leader.

“He loves to get on the field and run routes and talk to the guys and explain how he’s running routes and what works for him to these young cats,” the Bills quarterback told the media on Thursday via a Zoom conference call.

The young quarterback said Diggs also isn't above anyone and he is still learning things from someone else.

“It was very, very awesome to see just the amount of detail that he puts into his craft, how communicative he was, how wiling he was to learn,” Allen said.

Hopefully, Diggs will help Allen evolve as a quarterback and there won't be anymore questions about if Allen needs to become “captain checkdown.”
