The fact that the Buffalo Bills lost to the New England Patriots on Sunday was far from the only thing head coach Sean McDermott was unhappy about.

After the game, McDermott expressed displeasure for the hit Patriots cornerback Jonathan Jones put on Bills quarterback Josh Allen.

“There’s no room in football for that,” McDermott said in his postgame press conference, according to Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk. “It is a shame to see a player like Josh, or any player for that matter, go down on a hit like that.”

The incident occurred as Allen finished up a seven-yard scramble and was being wrapped up by safety Duran Harmon before Jones delivered a vicious helmet-to-helmet hit on Allen that left the signal-caller lying on the turf.

Jones, who celebrated the hit, was penalized for unnecessary roughness, but McDermott is questioning why the defensive back was not ejected.

“I asked for an explanation,” McDermott said. “I thought he should have been thrown out. Other than that, I am not going to get into that at all. That is for the league to get into.”

Allen left the game and was placed in concussion protocol.

The 23-year-old had a nightmarish outing, completing just 13 of his 28 passes for 153 yards and three interceptions in what ended up being a 16-10 loss, putting an end to the Bills' undefeated start to the season.

On the season overall, Allen has thrown for 903 yards, three touchdowns and six picks while completing 60.3 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 69.6.
