Buffalo Bills cornerback Tre'Davious White left his team's preseason game against the Detroit Lions on Friday night as a result of a quad contusion, according to Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com.

White suffered the injury early in the second quarter. He walked off under his own power, but then had his right leg wrapped by trainers on the sidelined before officially being ruled out.

The 24-year-old, who played his collegiate football at LSU, was originally selected by the Bills in the first round (27th pick overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft.

He immediately started all 16 games for Buffalo during his rookie campaign, finishing with 69 tackles, four interceptions, a forced fumble, 18 passes defended and a defensive touchdown.

Then, in 2018, White once again started all 16 contests, registering 54 tackles, a couple of picks and eight passes defended.

White was so impressive during his second season that Pro Football Focus placed him on their Second-Team All-Pro squad, so, obviously, if he is out for an extended period of time, it would be a major blow to the Bills secondary.

Fortunately, there doesn't appear to be any indication that this is a major injury.

Buffalo is coming off of a 2018 campaign in which it won six games. However, due to their interesting young defense, some people like the Bills as a potentially solid club in the AFC East heading into 2019.

Buffalo made the playoffs in 2017, marking its first playoff appearance since the 1999-00 campaign and ending the longest active postseason drought in the NFL in the process. The Bills have posted just three winning seasons since 1999.
