One of the biggest decisions the Buffalo Bills have this offseason is what to do with quarterback Tyrod Taylor. Buffalo has never committed to the Virginia Tech product long-term, and there's an expectation that he'll be on the move very soon, whether it be via a release or a trade.

According to the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, it will likely be the latter.

“Tyrod Taylor for the Buffalo Bills is due a huge number, also a $6 million roster bonus. My understanding is that it doesn't seem like they want to cut Tyrod. It seems like the Bills would like to trade him, just based on how much quarterbacks are going for and interest.”

Taylor's importance to Buffalo's offense was demonstrated when head coach Sean McDermott started Nathan Peterman over him against the Los Angeles Chargers. It was a disaster, as Peterman completed just 6-of-14 passes for 66 yards while tossing five interceptions.

If they're going to move on from the seven-year veteran, they'll need to bring in a viable option to replace him, likely through free agency with this quarterback class. The Bills reportedly covet UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen, but they'd have to give up a number of assets to meet him in the upcoming NFL Draft. They currently hold the 21st and 22nd overall picks.

Taylor was instrumental to Buffalo's unlikely playoff run, breaking their league-long postseason drought, but he was unable to produce against the Jacksonville Jaguars' swarming defense. Still, he should generate interest on the free agent market. He's been fairly mistake-free compared to his counterparts, and his dual-threat ability allows him to improvise when plays break down.
