San Francisco 49ers cornerback Richard Sherman is set to hit free agency despite an unforeseen circumstance, and Portland Trail Blazers backcourt duo of Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum has been recruiting Sherman to their respective teams.

McCollum is from Ohio so it's no surprise he wants to see Richard Sherman in a Browns uniform, especially after they made the playoffs for the first time since 2002. For Lillard, he hopes Sherman joins the Raiders.

Lillard told him to “come on across that bridge,” but perhaps Lillard forgot that the Raiders play in Las Vegas now after spending the last couple of decades playing their home games in Oakland, which is where Lillard is from.

The 49ers are set to move on from Sherman as they are short on cap space, especially considering the fact that the cap space will decline in 2021 after the pandemic. Richard Sherman won a Super Bowl with the Seattle Seahawks and was a member of that legendary Legion of Boom defense.

While he isn't the same player he once was, he can provide some depth and can help teach the next group of young defensive players coming into the league for whichever team he goes to.

Lillard and McCollum lobbying for Sherman's talents to their respective NFL teams should be a fun back-and-forth, and Sherman will have a wide variety of suitors when March rolls around if the Niners do indeed to move on from him.
