In a back and forth matchup in South Beach, the Portland Trailblazers snuck out of Miami with a 125-122 victory over the Miami Heat. The game was iced off of clutch free throws from Damian Lillard after being fouled at the top of the key.

Portland’s three-point victory has given them their fourth win in their last six games.

The Blazers needed a good rally in the fourth quarter to secure the win. Miami rallied to a 108-100 lead midway through the fourth quarter. Thanks to the scoring outbursts of CJ McCollum and Lillard, the duo led the way in holding off Miami within the last three minutes of the game. Although Lillard struggled shooting the ball, he finished the game with 22 points after his clutch free-throws down the stretch.

Lillard continues his MVP-caliber season with amazing performances every night. The Portland leader is averaging 30.1 points per game along with 7.7 assists. Lillard is currently second in scoring, placed behind Bradley Beal of the Washington Wizards. Despite missed time from McCollum and other key players, Lillard has done a phenomenal job of keeping the Blazers afloat.

The win against Miami is a potential start for Portland to start a winning streak. After two consecutive losses to Dallas and Brooklyn, the Blazers want to keep momentum on their side. Portland continues their four-game road trip facing off against Orlando, Toronto, and Portland in their next three games. Coach Terry Stotts would be appreciative if the team completes their road trip with a sweep headed back home.
