Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James received a dose of his own medicine on Monday, courtesy of an emphatic chase-down block from Portland Trail Blazers high-flyer Derrick Jones Jr.

In the closing seconds of the third quarter of the match between the two Western Conference teams, James tried to bully his way to the point like he normally does.

The King got away with what appeared to be a blatant push over Blazers center Enes Kanter and thought he had a free look for an easy deuce. Jones, however, spoiled those plans as he came out of nowhere to swat James with his own signature block.

Check this highlight-reel worthy block that will no doubt go viral across all social media platforms.

LeBron James is normally on the giving end of such highlights, but Derrick Jones Jr. possesses the aerial grace to pull off such magnificent rejection. Apart from the ability to jump out of the building, the 2020 Slam Dunk Contest champion also displayed impeccable timing to deny the four-time MVP of an easy bucket.

For what it's worth, theĀ  Blazers swingman had another block on LeBron, though it didn't count as it was after a foul was called:

Jones Jr. is currently playing his first year with the Blazers after signing with the team in the offseason. Prior to Monday's contest, he is averaging 7.5 points and 5.0 boards off the bench.

LeBron, on the other hand, does appear mortal from time to time as evidenced by this play. Still, the soon to be 36-year-old megastar remains on top of his game in his 18th season. LBJ has tallied 20.7 points in the reigning champs' first three games of the campaign.
