Damian Lillard is all about his roots. The Portland Trail Blazers superstar never fails to mention the strength he gleans from his family, nor his past as an unheralded draft prospect at Weber State and under-recruited high-schooler in his beloved hometown of Oakland.

As such, it was no surprise to see Lillard embrace with his brother after hitting one of the most iconic shots in NBA history on Wednesday night. But his brother, Houston, wasn't the only family member who had an up close and personal look at Lillard's 37-foot buzzer-beater to end the Blazers' first-round series with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

That's Lillard's sister, LaNae, getting in on the celebration just moments after her brother grew his legend as perhaps the greatest Trail Blazer of all time. His mother, Gina Johnson, made her way to the court as Lillard sized up Paul George after crossing halfcourt, too.

Lillard scored 50 points in his team's series-clinching victory. He averaged 33.0 points, 4.4 rebounds, 6.0 assists, and 2.4 steals against Oklahoma City, shooting 46.1 percent overall and a scorching 48.1 percent from three on nearly 11 attempts per game, thoroughly out-dueling Russell Westbrook.

If Lillard continues playing at this level, it seems only a matter of time until he has another moment like the one that ended Game 5. And when that happens, his family will undoubtedly be right at his side.
