Damian Lillard has been on a shooting tear as of late, and teammate Hassan Whiteside wanted everyone to know. Whiteside interjected during a postgame interview with Lillard and shouted, “Shooter! Shooter!” towards the camera, pointing at his teammate.

And a shooter he is, indeed. Blazers All-Star Damian Lillard had 33 points and eight assists on the team’s win against the Miami Heat. Prior to Sunday night’s matchup, he was already averaging over 41 points over the past 10 games. Additionally, throughout the season, he’s at 29.8 points and 7.9 assists per game.

Whiteside, on his part, finished with 11 points and grabbed 17 boards.

The win was likely bittersweet for the team, who are currently grinding for a playoff spot in the stacked Western Conference. He was notably livid on Friday night after a missed goaltending call versus the Jazz. The layup, if it had counted, would have led Portland to a tie game at almost ten seconds left.

Nevertheless, Sunday’s win still meant a better record at 25-29. However, the depleted yet determined Blazers now eye two more wins, and possibly grab the eighth and last playoff spot over Memphis.
