The Los Angeles Dodgers and Atlanta Braves have dominated the MLB over the past two seasons. They have also developed quite the rivalry during that time. The Dodgers defeated the Braves during the 2020 NLCS and went on to win the World Series, but the Braves got their revenge last year by beating Los Angeles in the NLCS and ultimately winning the Fall Classic as well.

Los Angeles manager Dave Roberts recently made headlines when he guaranteed a Dodgers World Series championship in 2022. Although this is certainly a bold prediction, the Dodgers are the favorites to win it all this season.

However, Braves reliever Tyler Matzek stoked the fire of the brewing rivalry as he called out Roberts following the manager's claim.

“Breaking: Dodgers manager, Dave Roberts, believed to have received a copy of Grays Sports Almanac from future self. Plans to open Dave Roberts’ Pleasure Paradise Casino and Hotel in near future.”

Does the Tweet make perfect sense? No. Is it an obvious attempt to call out Dave Roberts? Absolutely.

Tyler Matzek was a key piece of the Braves 2021 World Series run. He got a number of key outs pitching out of the bullpen and figures to play a similar role in 2022. Matzek, a left-handed reliever, will be especially important in a potential playoff series against LA. The Dodgers have a number of talented left-handed hitters in the lineup such as Max Muncy, Cody Bellinger, and of course former Brave Freddie Freeman.

There is no question that any game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Atlanta Braves in 2022 will be must-watch baseball.
