Ronald Acuna Jr. has been absolutely phenomenal for the Atlanta Braves this season. After missing the majority of 2021, the Venezuelan slugger has been lights out for the defending champions this season. Unfortunately, the team will likely be missing him for a few days after their game against the Dodgers on Saturday.

During the game, Acuna Jr was hit by a speedy foul ball on his foot. The Braves star tried to play through the pain, but was eventually taken out of the game. The next day, Ronald Acuna Jr showed up on a medical scooter, sparking injury fears. Here's what the star slugger had to say about his injury. (via David O'Brien)

Braves manager Brian Snitker also relayed the same message about Ronald Acuna Jr's injury saying that the MRI showed no structural damage.

That's a major bullet dodged for the Braves, who are already missing two of their key pieces from their 2021 core. Eddy Rosario has just begun his rehab after an eye injury. Meanwhile, star second baseman Ozzie Albies underwent surgery recently after fracturing his foot. Losing Acuna Jr for a long period could've been devastating for this team.

Unless a major complication comes up, Acuna Jr should be back in the Braves rotation after a few days. That's great, because the Venezuelan has been lighting it up for them, posting solid splits across the board. He's also been instrumental during the Braves' double-digit win streak that propelled them back to serious playoff contention after a so-so start.
