The time has finally come for the headlining bout at UFC Vegas 90 as we're set to bring you a betting prediction and pick for the Main Event in the Middleweight (185) Division. No. 6-ranked Brendan Allen will take on No. 14-ranked Chris Curtis in a rematch dating back to 2021. Check out our UFC odds series for our Allen-Curtis prediction and pick.

Brendan Allen (23-5) comes into this fight with an impressive 11-2 record en route to becoming a contender in his division. He's riding one of the UFC's longest active winning streaks at six wins and most recently took down Paul Craig in a main event spot. His last loss was to his opponent here, so he'll be looking to avenge himself en route to a title shot. Allen stands 6'2″ with a 75-inch reach.

Chris Curtis (31-10) comes in with a 5-2-0-1 record in the UFC. He's been up-and-down over the last five fights and following an accidental clash of heads in his main event against Nassourdine Imavov, he bounced back very well with a win over Marc-Andre Barriault. He'll be looking to stay perfect against Allen and steal his ranking. Curtis stands 5'10” with a 75.5-inch reach.

Why Brendan Allen Will Win

Brendan Allen is currently riding one of the UFC's hottest winning streaks at six consecutive and five of those wins have come by way of rear-naked choke. He already broke the record for most wins by the submission in his division and he'll be looking to do the same against Curtis, who has only been submitted once in his career. Stats like that didn't deter Allen from submitting Paul Craig or Andre Muniz, so he's certainly not worried about Chris Curtis defending his submission attempts.

This is an interesting fight for Brendan Allen to take considering he's much farther up the rankings and has proven himself more than Curtis up to this point. Still, he's looking to avenge his last loss and he feels as though there's no way Chris Curtis will be able to TKO him a second time around. Look for Brendan Allen to make this fight dirty as he tries to take Curtis down in the clinch. While Curtis is a very strong wrestler, expect Brendan Allen to find openings and take Curtis' back at least once throughout this fight.

Why Chris Curtis Will Win

Chris Curtis is coming into this fight following a solid win over Marc-Andre Barriault in a fight that went to a split decision. While Curtis was landing his own shots, he failed to make a massive impact and it was clear he was at a power disadvantage to Barriault. During this fight, Chris Curtis should prove to have the better boxing combinations and faster hand speed. Still, Brendan Allen is constantly evolving his game and Curtis won't be able to take him lightly when standing and striking across from him.

Chris Curtis should be able to win this fight if he's able to negate the grappling of Brendan Allen. He's a very good wrestler in his own right and boasts one of the UFC's best takedown defenses at 92% throughout his fights. Still, his activity has been a point of question for him in the past and he won't be able to let off the gas in the slightest during this fight. For Curtis to be successful, he'll have to stay at range and continue to pop his jab out in front while keep Allen at distance.

Final Brendan Allen-Chris Curtis 2 Prediction & Pick

This will be a great Main Event between two differing styles and it'll be interesting to see which fighter's game plan is more effective in the smaller octagon. Brendan Allen will be working hard to close the distance and grab Curtis in the clinch or for a takedown opportunity. I expect Chris Curtis to stay upright most of this fight due to his takedown defense, but Allen could catch him off-guard if he quickly spins toward the back.

Chris Curtis will be the better boxer here, but he'll need to keep his output high and consistent. We've seen him waver his striking in the past, but he can't afford to get behind on the scorecards early against a smart fight manager like Brendan Allen.

For our prediction, let's side with Brendan Allen to get the win here. He's more willing to take chances on the ground and knowing him, he's probably been working on his striking and boxing ahead of this fight. Look for Brendan Allen to show an even more improved striking game as he continues knocking on the door of a title shot.
