Former AL Most Valuable Player Josh Donaldson just did not have a nice season with the New York Yankees. He had nursed a lot of injuries which has only allowed him to play for 33 games. When he was playing, a lot of fans were frustrated and often blamed the 37-year-old MLB player. Criticism was at times called given that his hits were only .207/.293//385 through 666 appearances on the plate. But, teams are still taking a chance on the former superstar like Milwaukee Brewers and Nashville Sounds.

You heard that right! Josh Donaldson is headed to the Brewers' triple-A affiliate, the Nashville Sounds, per Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

There is still no guarantee that he gets called back up to the MLB but he surely needs to perform better. His contributions to a team that has been dead last in the AL East were underwhelming. The Yankees' decision also came in late which may have cost them quite a ton. Notably, Donaldson was nursing a calf and hamstring injury throughout the season.

A jump in his statistics is to be expected with the Brewers' affiliate team. He had 120 plate appearances in the whole MLB season but he only slashed .142/.225/.434. There are a lot of improvements to be made in his style of play and his injury-prone nature. Will Josh Donaldson go back to his winning ways after a stint in the triple-A?
