The Denver Broncos reportedly placed wide receiver KJ Hamler on the non-football injury list ahead of the start of training camp, according to Field Yates of ESPN.

It will be interesting to see what KJ Hamler's timeline for a return is, as he would like to be a key weapon for Russell Wilson to help him bounce back from a disappointing 2022 season.

Nose tackle Mike Purcell is also on the non-football injury list, while linebacker Baron Browning and wide receiver Kendall Hinton are on the physically unable to perform list, according to James Palmer of NFL Network.

Hamler has struggled with injuries throughout his career with the Broncos. In his rookie year in 2020, he played in 13 games, according to Pro Football Reference. Hamler recorded 381 receiving yards with three touchdowns in his rookie season. Since then, Hamler played in just three games in the 2021 season, and seven games in the 2022 season. There has been a lot of optimism regarding Hamler's potential, but the injuries have just held him back too often.

The Broncos are looking to bounce back in the second year of Russell Wilson's tenure, and the first year of Sean Payton's tenure as head coach of the team.

The Broncos have receivers like Jerry Jeudy and Courtland Sutton who are highly thought of by many. Jerry Jeudy is a former first-round pick who seems to be putting things together and had just under 1,000 yards last season. Courtland Sutton is a solid receiver as well.

Hamler will have to earn his targets with the Broncos. The first year of Sean Payton as Broncos head coach will be an interesting one, as he tries to revive Wilson's career and bring the team back to the playoffs.
