The Denver Broncos have faced uncertainty regarding star edge rusher Bradley Chubb for much of the offseason. Well, with the regular season just days away, they got some update on Chubb, although it wasn't exactly what they wanted to hear.

According to Mike Klis, Chubb was detained for failure to appear from misdemeanors and expires plates earlier in the year.

“Bradley Chubb was detained Tuesday on a failure-to-appear warrant stemming from traffic infractions.”

Chubb's tenure in the NFL has been a shaky one, and now the Broncos will have serious questions about where he will be ready for their season opener against the New York Giants on Sunday, although head coach Vic Fangio seemed optimistic about the possibility of Chubb being able to play.

Furthermore, Chubb has also been nursing an ankle injury which could sideline him for the game as well. Regardless, this is not a good sign for the Broncos edge rusher, and Fangio and company might have to prepare to be without him for some time depending on how everything works out with his injury and his legal issues.

This situation will be one to monitor going forward as Sunday's NFL regular season inches closer and closer.
