The Denver Broncos' two-game winning streak came to an abrupt end on Thursday night, as the Broncos were hammered by the Kansas City Chiefs by a score of 30-6 in their Week 7 matchup.

Afterward, quarterback Joe Flacco gave credit to the Chiefs for their dominant performance:

“We’re just not playing good football,” Flacco said, according to Mike Klis of 9 News. “They came after us and we kind of let them come after us. You’ve got to give a lot of credit to them. They played really physical. They came hard. They played downhill and we were in a lot of bad situations.”

Flacco completed 21 of his 34 passes for 213 yards without a touchdown nor an interception, but he was sacked eight times and fumbled a couple of times as a result, one of which resulted in a Kansas City score.

Through seven games this season, the veteran signal-caller has thrown for 1,648 yards, six touchdowns and five picks while completing 65.7 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 86.3.

The Broncos acquired Flacco in a trade with the Baltimore Ravens during the offseason with the hope that Flacco would bridge the gap for the club as they groom their next young quarterback, which turned out to be second-round rookie Drew Lock.

Based on the way Flacco and Denver have played over the first half of the season, it's looking more and more likely that we will see Lock under center at some point in 2019.

The Broncos fell to 2-5 with the loss and will take on the Indianapolis Colts next week.
