There is a buzzing positivity surrounding the Denver Broncos after acquiring Melvin Gordon as a complementary attacking piece to Drew Lock. However, fans aren't the only ones excited over this new collaboration, as the former Los Angeles Charger running back has high hopes for the young pass-caller.

As reported by Broncos Wire's Jon Heath, Gordon watched as much film as he can on Lock to understand his current level of talent. Based on the eye test, he was impressed with what the former Missouri standout has to offer.

“I’ve watched as much film as I can on him,” Melvin Gordon said of Drew Lock during a conference call with reporters on March 27. “I’ve watched his highlights. You can only see so much from YouTube angles, but he seems like a great quarterback.”

Of course, watching on film is different compared to playing on the field, and that's something Flash still has to do with his new Broncos teammates. Unfortunately, the coronavirus pandemic is preventing him from working out with Lock and the rest of the team.

That isn't stopping him from rating the young QB highly, however.

“He seems like a smart guy, bright guy when he talks in his interviews . . . . I’m excited to work with him,” the new Broncos RB said. “I’m going to tell him some things that I like as far as when I’m back there and pick his brain a little bit. Every quarterback is different. We’re just going to have to learn how to adapt with each other and play as one out there.”

Lock has only five games under his belt, but he has already put up impressive performances for the Broncos. He finished his rookie campaign with 1,020 passing yards and seven touchdowns. He has the promise to become a juggernaut in the AFC West if he develops properly.

With Gordon taking some of the pressure off Lock, the Broncos have provided their young QB with an offense to help him grow and succeed.
