Los Angeles Chargers fans have been regularly criticized for their lack of support. And Denver Broncos running back Melvin Gordon is just the latest person to bring it up.

Gordon spent the first five years of his career with the Chargers before signing with the Broncos last week. The veteran running back took a shot at Bolts fans during his Broncos introductory press conference on Friday:

“I always felt like it was an away game when we played the Broncos, and pretty much any team,” said Gordon, via Nicki Jhabvala of The Athletic.

Gordon inked a two-year deal with Denver and will now be facing Los Angeles as an opponent twice in 2020.

The 27-year-old played his collegiate football at the University of Wisconsin. He was originally selected by the Chargers in the first round (15th pick overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft.

He had a quiet rookie campaign, logging 641 yards on the ground while averaging just 3.5 yards per carry. The following year, Gordon's role grew significantly. He rushed for 997 yards and 10 touchdowns en route to a Pro Bowl appearance. Once again, though, his efficiency left much to be desired, as he tallied 3.9 yards per attempt.

Gordon then posted his first 1,000-yard season in 2017, finishing with 1,105 yards and eight scores, registering 3.9 yards per tote.

It wasn't until 2018 that the Kenosha, Wi. native finally had an efficient season, posting 5.1 yards per carry and totaling 885 yards and 10 scores as a rusher. He made his second Pro Bowl as a result.

Gordon played in just 12 games in 2019 due to a holdout that took him through the first several weeks of the season.

It's clear that Gordon has some “revenge” on his mind. He'll have that opportunity to exact revenge when the Broncos visit the Chargers' “home” stadium.
