The Denver Broncos' 2023 season came to a disappointing end after suffering a loss to division rival Las Vegas Raiders, 27-14. The Broncos had the opportunity to end the season with a victory and a winning record. But with the loss, they finish their season at 8-9 and third in the AFC West.

Denver's season was filled with highs and lows. It included losing streaks and a historic blowout loss to the Miami Dolphins. It also had winning streaks, beating the Kansas City Chiefs for the first time in years, and there was even a chance where the playoffs were within reach.

The Broncos' campaign didn't end on a horrible note, but they blew the chance to end on a bit of a positive note. While the season didn't go to plan, head coach Sean Payton encouraged his team to keep their heads up.

“I think the mood would be disappointed, not discouraged, but nonetheless you’d certainly like to finish on a brighter note than that,” Payton reflected, via Denver Sports “I reminded them, just remember how this feels. It’s something that you spend so much time in working towards a common goal and then when you fall short of that it just doesn’t sit right. It can't, with anyone.”

Sean Payton believes the Broncos are heading in the right direction for the future. But, he also emphasized to fans that change regarding the team wouldn't happen overnight.

“This isn’t the industry to get discouraged. It would’ve be real easy to get discouraged with the start of the season. No one said this was going to be easy,” added Payton.
