Following a strong start out of the gate by winning their first two games, the Denver Broncos have stumbled over the last two weeks. Much of the focus is on the play of quarterback Case Keenum, but head coach Vance Joseph backed him up after their most recent loss.

The Broncos surrendered a 10-point fourth quarter lead to the high-powered Kansas City Chiefs offense on Monday night, but they had a chance to win in the waning seconds. Keenum had wide receiver Demaryius Thomas down the sideline for what could've been the game-winning score, but the throw was high and sailed out of bounds.

In response to the loss, Joseph stated that the team still has much trust in Keenum's ability to lead them to success,  according to Troy Renck of Denver7 ABC.

Although the Broncos have had plenty of issues over the last two games, Keenum has brought the franchise the stability they have lacked over the last two seasons.  He has become a strong asset for the Broncos with his steady play, which did put them into position to top the Chiefs.

However, their inability to move the ball done the field consistently on one of the weaker defenses in the NFL led to the Broncos' downfall. They had an opportunity to come back after Kansas City took the lead late in the fourth quarter. Keenum moved the team down the field for a possible scoring drive, but they couldn't make the final play to get in the end zone. There were opportunities for Denver to scratch out a win.

Keenum may not have the ability to lead the team with his arm on a weekly basis, but he has shown he can push them to success, which he will have a chance to prove in Week 5 against the New York Jets.
