Things have seemingly picked up on the front for former Pro Bowl wide receiver Dez Bryant over the weekend with the Cleveland Browns reportedly interested in possibly bringing him on board.

There hadn't been much chatter over the last several weeks prior to that with any other team hedging toward signing Bryant. According to Mike Garofolo of The NFL Network, the Browns still hold plenty of interest in adding the 29-year-old to the mix, but there isn't a scheduled visit on the docket just yet.

The Browns may still be contemplating whether they genuinely want to pursue signing Bryant to add to their promising group of wide receivers that includes Jarvis Landry, Josh Gordon, and Corey Coleman.

Cleveland's sudden interest in him may lie with the fact that Gordon is currently out of the mix getting some help to keep his life on track off the field so that he can continue his NFL career. Although he has indicated he will be back with the team soon, there is no certainty that will be when the season starts as he's dealing with a serious personal matter.

Bryant may have experienced a dip in production over the last three years without a single 1,000 receiving yard campaign over that stretch, but he's still a game-changing talent in the passing game. He could be a reliable red zone threat that a change of scenery could help him get back on track to being one of the game's top wide receivers that saw him during a three-year stretch from 2012-14 record at least 88 catches, 1,200 receiving yards, and 12 touchdowns in each season.

There is still plenty of time for the Browns to decide with possibly signing Bryant this offseason with training camp just getting underway. It is a fluid situation where things could quickly gain further steam toward in the coming days with the start of the preseason less than two weeks away.
