The New York Giants have made the decision this week to bench quarterback Eli Manning against the Oakland Raider, effectively ending his 210 consecutive regular-season games of being the starter.

According to ESPN Stats & Info, the Cleveland Browns have, over the duration of Manning's streak, used 24 different starting quarterbacks.

The Browns have become the epitome of where quarterbacks struggle to break through to find any type of success, with only one winning season over that span and no playoff appearances. The fact that the team has used that many different starters does speak to the amount of instability the franchise has had both on the field and in the front office.

Meanwhile, Manning has provided the needed stability to the New York franchise over his first 13 years in the league. The sort of stability that led to a pair of championships. There have been some tough stretches during that span, but he has remained a constant in New York.

What this could signal more than anything else is that Manning's time with the Giants could be coming to an end after this season. It may also mark the beginning of much change to come throughout the team with the coaching staff once the 2017 campaign draws to a conclusion.
