Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver DeSean Jackson may not be planning to stick around for much longer.
According to JoeBucsFan.com, Jackson has sold his house in Tampa two years into a three-year deal he signed with the Buccaneers in March 2017.
While Jackson is currently on the books for $10 million next season, none of that is guaranteed, meaning the 32-year-old will likely be playing elsewhere in 2019.
This doesn't come as much of a surprise.
After all, Jackson apparently asked Tampa Bay for a trade two months ago, even though he said on his Halloween podcast how much he loves being in Tampa:
“I love it here in Tampa,” Jackson said. “You know, I’m raising my family. My family loves it down here. I love the weather, love the beaches. There’s a lot to do, but it’s still a low key quiet place, as well, too. The city’s embracing me, man. And I appreciate the fan support and all the love. Hopefully, man, I can end my career here. Retire as a Buc, man, that’s what I look forward to. And hopefully bringing a Super Bowl to Tampa Bay.”
So, either Jackson is planning on buying another house in the area, or he was just blowing smoke and will be on the first jet out of Florida once free agency begins in March.
In 11 games this season, Jackson has hauled in 40 receptions for 750 yards and four touchdowns. During his first year in Tampa Bay last year, Jackson finished with 50 catches, 668 yards and three scores.
Jackson is a three-time Pro Bowler but has not gone to Honolulu since the 2013 campaign, his last season with the Philadelphia Eagles.
