The Tampa Bay Buccaneers haven't done anything since trading Gerald McCoy to show any sort of respect to the guy who spent the first nine years of his career.

Even though there has been some disrespect from the team Gerald McCoy has made it clear that he won't be talking bad about his former club.

Just a few days after trading McCoy the team handed his number to Ndamukong Suh who was signed in part to replace his production. For some that might really frustrate a player but if it has for McCoy, he has kept it on the inside.

On Tuesday during an episode of Ian Rapoport's podcast, McCoy said he still has a lot of respect for his former club.

“I don’t want it to be misconstrued the respect I have for the Buccaneers organization and how much I appreciate what they’ve done for me,” McCoy said on Ian Rapoport’s podcast, via a transcript from Greg Auman from TheAthletic.com. “A lot of people think I’ve turned my back on them or disrespected them. I’ll never do that.

“I’ll never say anything bad about Tampa. I’ll never say anything negative about Tampa. It doesn’t matter how much negative was said about me. It’ll never be reciprocated, because I know that organization changed my life. The time I had there was great.”

McCoy has to be getting excited for the season to start because the questions about his former team will end and he can just focus on playing the game he loves, football.
