Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback was a late scratch prior to the team's Week 10 loss to the Washington Football Team after injured his calf in pre-game warmups. Head coach Bruce Arians gave an update on Sherman on Monday and it was definitely concerning. Via Ari Meirov:

As noted, the Buccaneers veteran will undergo an MRI but he also just returned from the IR after missing over a month with a hamstring problem. Sherman has played only three games for Tampa since signing with them on September 29th. The former Seahawks star has 11 tackles this season.

This is definitely a blow to the Buccaneers, who have been missing their two best defensive backs for most of the 2021 campaign. Sean Murphy-Bunting and Carlton Davis are both injured, which is part of the reason they went out and signed Sherman. However, Murphy-Bunting and Davis should be back in action within the next couple of weeks.

It's unknown at this point if Sherman is going to land on the IR again, but the Buccaneers will be praying that won't happen. Tom Brady and Co. have now lost two straight, with their defense giving up a total of 65 points in the process. Tampa takes on the New York Giants next Monday.
